Right, change all 2.5's to 3, all those to 3.5, all those to 2.5. Don't reverse this time.
Sometimes Mizuiro could become shorter and more analytical in thought. As he carefully dealt with the nonspell and his own spell, this slowly crept in. Unconsciously his moves became sharper, more precise, as he gave the problem of attacking to the back of his mind and focused on the danmaku in front of him. This analyticism was sometimes helpful, sometimes not. In this state of focus, a random thought occurred to him: would it snow soon? he didn't like snow.

Throwing off his timing still didn't really matter to Yukari, who was dodging the attacks as they came rather than moving in advance. Since the pattern wasn't consistent, it would be more harmful to do so than not.
She twirled gracefully between two bullets, and chuckled. Mizuiro was still holding her interest, the silly youkai. But as many residents of Gensokyo would say, holding the interest of Yukari could be more of a problem than a good thing.

Ah well. Moving on to the next nonspell. He'd forgotten which one it was he wanted to use; he did, at least, remember what his last one would be. So what would it be this turn? Hmmm... Something slow.
Nonspell: Gentle And Fatal Flow
Slow, thick rivers of fire bullets wind their way down, coming down from behind Mizuiro at various points. Additional fire bullets are launched from Mizuiro and from the rivers, but these too move quite slowly. This nonspell can get claustrophobic as it goes on, requiring very slow and careful movements. Mizuiro can move freely during this nonspell.
As for dodging her nonspell, he decided to take the more daring initiative of moving through the rings, seeing as how his movement was now unrestricted. His movements once more became more fluid as his mind returned to the excitement of the battle at hand.

Yukari had been expecting another fast-paced non-spell, and paused for a moment in surprise when he pulled out a slow river of fire. It looked almost relaxing, really. As the bullets approached, she lazily drifted through the safe areas. Mmm, she could almost fall asleep while moving juuust enough to keep the bullets from touching her. She'd actually fought in her sleep a couple times, and one of those she had won. The other had been very, very close.
Yeeeah, Yukari was a silly youkai at times.

Well... That was... Partially expected? She looked half-asleep. It was a very sleepy nonspell, he supposed. After all, Mizuiro himself slept in a lava flow, so it made sense.
Even so, this was curious. Well, either way, all seemed to be going well for the time being. He tried not to put himself at risk with her nonspell, moving through the rings at points that would offer the widest gaps. His freed movement, and his now somewhat relaxed mind, made this easier on him.
He wondered how fast this Yukari could shift gears. His next spell was the fastest spell he'd ever made...

Yukari had almost actually fallen asleep when suddenly she looked up sharply, almost snapping upright into a bullet. Her nonspell was almost out of time, and with the spell she was planning to use next, she needed to start gathering energy beforehand. It helped that she didn't have to dash around dodging and could focus on that while making the minimal motions to stay safe.

Heh, seemed she remembered she wasn't napping. All very well and good. What would her spell be, he wondered? He'd lost track of how many she had left. Ah well. He let his nonspell serenade him for a bit; not sleep, but calm. He'd found it was generally helpful to calm down before his bigger spells to improve performance. Certainly for Mythril Clock, absolutely necessary for the last spell.
Hmm, what spell was she going to pull out? Another border, perhaps? It would certainly be interesting, he was sure...

Yukari's nonspell stopped, and she grinned. This spellcard had originally been a joke, simple psychological warfare, but she'd improved on it when she saw just how amazing of a job it did at throwing others off. She hadn't even declared her spellcard yet, but around the edge of where they were fighting, countless gaps opened, the edges almost touching to form an enormous sphere of purple void and scarlet eyes with hairline cracks of the sky and ground barely showing through. [Waste Line "Aimless Journey to the Waste Station"] From one of the gaps, directly behind Mizuiro, an abandoned-looking train, empty of passengers and with cracked windows, shot out and barreled towards him. This was an illusion- the whole thing was a solid danmaku laser that simply failed to glow or look like a laser. It kept on going whether he dodged it or not, and connected with a gap on the opposite side. This would stay in place, and more of the gaps would become connected by the train-laser coming in and out of the gaps, and from the gaps not occupied by trains, danmaku bullets that looked like odd things such as railroad crossing signs or chunks of the earth or outside-world technology would start to fly out at random speeds. This spellcard was truly something only Yukari could come up with... and she was free to move around, could even go through the illusionary trains, though not while still trapped by Mizuiro's nonspell. [duration: 6]

Oh, Shizuha help me...
What the hell are all these eye things? WHAT WAS THAT. The hell are those?
Screw the planned cards, you want to play cruel? I can play cruel. Even so. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS.
This was more or less Mizuiro's train of thought as the spellcard came out. It was... Disconcerting. The familiar lava-like flows helped keep his mind on things, and it made him excited for his imminent spell, which was quite a quirky one.
Well, at least he wasn't disappointed as far as hoping for an interesting spell. She was throwing things at him, mostly metal things. The back of his mind calculated the possible value and type of the metal he saw, and what these objects were supposed to do.
So it was a spell that would limit him as time went by. How very coincidental. It was certainly a random spell... It didn't look like it'd be very hard to dodge, but it certainly had a disconcerting feel.
Border youkai indeed...

Yukari chuckled as the train shot by, which kept on going through her without damaging her or even obstructing her vision of the flame bullets.
"Now how are you liking this?" Yukari called from where she was still moving around the flames that came her way with careful precision. The slow pace and tight spaces didn't bother her, though she did want to get somewhere where he could see her as soon as his non-spell ended.
