The anticipation of his first sword spell; and seeing what her next spell would do; was ever so much fun for Mizuiro. After the first spell this familiar pattern was hardly a comparison... But Yukari didn't seem to be having much trouble with the plume. Hmm. Would she be expecting a switch in tactics or not? She'd been hit twice, so call it probable.
At least she wasn't likely to pull something like that sideways trick again. If she decided to just go upside down altogether, well... Perhaps Mizuiro would look to be a tad crueler with his spells.
Still, this seemed to be going well. Mizuiro trailed slightly but that was better than expected. No sense getting confident, though. Once you think you've won is when you're weakest...

With her pattern running itself so easily, Yukari could focus all her attention on dodging. Which was good, because she was expecting his pattern to get faster or denser or add stuff like the previous ones. If it didn't, she wouldn't have a problem. And if it did, well, at least it wouldn't come out of nowhere like the first times she'd been caught off guard.
She let herself smile. Really, this was one of the more fun battles she'd had in a while. She had been hit twice, which just showed that she had let herself go without a bit too long. But she was quickly getting back into the rhythm of the fight.

Mizuiro laughed audibly as he switched his blade to a proper grip. NOW it was fun time! Let's see, which one first? Eh, why not this one... Although he was still slightly laughing, the name of his card rang out;
Sword Sign: Flesh-Tearing Hook
This spell is used my Mizuiro when he has his hooked blade. Mizuiro causes straight, angled slashes with swings of the sword. Each line or slash creates many, many tiny red danmaku that look like blood, raining down on the opponent in a nonlinear, fluid-like cascade. Which direction they fall in depends on Mizuiro's swing; as a result, this spell is very hard to predict. However, the cascade generally falls on one side, so if one can alternate quickly enough, dealing the danmaku falling faster, they can stay away from the slower mass until the latter part of the spell where it speeds up.
This was the card that had traumatized a fairy. He'd be surprised if his apparently quite refined opponent didn't find it even a little disturbing... Anyway, he needed to do nothing more than swing his sword for this, as opposed to a sweeping motion, so dodging wouldn't be any more difficult.

Yukari Yakumo might have looked like a refined lady, sure, aside from the distinct aura about her and the way her teeth were just a bit too shiny in the light and sometimes her eyes had a feral glint in them that screamed run. She was still very much a youkai, and very much a dangerous youkai.
The random slashes and red rain actually earned a gleeful grin and a giggle from her even as she darted sideways to avoid being hit, continuing to fire off her nonspell's circles of daggers.
"I like this one," Yukari called even as she dodged, her tone more pleasant than it really ought to have been.

[Please remember to put the duration of your spellcards/nonspells in the post where they are declared. Makes it easier on me. I need to remember to do it myself.]

She liked it, did she? How... Charming. Best sweep that from the mind. Attraction was crippling. Plus, she seemed the type who was far too... Oh, what was the word... Ah, never mind.
He kept his sword pattern cryptic; sometimes he would seem to cause a pattern, and then sharply break it off, or simply slash without thinking in a truly random attack.
Her nonspell would end next turn. Exciting... Then he would get a better idea of his opponent, and maybe have to put serious effort into dodging again. Really... He didn't understand why so many thought nonspells should progress off eachother like that. That just meant your nonspells were predictable.
Perhaps later he could discuss danmaku strategy with this youkai. She seemed worth it.

Yukari knew that her nonspell was just about done. Her next spellcard... ah, she knew exactly what she planned to use. So she did something rather unexpected as the last of the daggers shot out- she continued to watch how the danmaku blood-rain fell so she could get back into the rhythm of avoiding it, but she actually flew through a chunk of it to where she'd started to prepare for her next spellcard. That grin on her face, too wild for her beauty and yet not out of place, was still solidly in place.

As Yukari declared her next spellcard, the gap she was sitting on almost seemed to flicker into a grin mirroring the one on her face.
[Bounded Field "Mesh of Light and Darkness"]
Almost at once, she fired off two rows of white bullets well off to the side of Mizuiro that stayed in place in lines, as well as two sprays of luminous bullets edged in red and blue in his general direction. This would have been fairly straightfoward and simple (though dense), if it wasn't for the faint white harmless lines that crisscrossed the air from the stationary rows before flaring up into full-on red-and-blue lasers, fading and instantly appearing in a new position between the repeated sprays of glowing bullets. And each time, the oldest line of white bullets would vanish and a new one would appear.

Mizuiro grinned. Like hsi metallic claws in design, two short, sharp fangs set just behind his regular teeth- with eyehole shape points- glinted in the light of the danmaku. Now THIS was a spellcard. He'd used two spellcards so far; his sword had only two more, so at some point he'd have to use another non-sword one. And what an impressive one it would be. When should he use it... Hm. Either way.
He paid less attention to his sword- he just made sure to keep swinging it, disrupted by his movements, now- and paid attention to the spellcard. Dense bullets sprayed at him, with plenty of trace lasers.
Interesting... It seemed that he would have to take this in sections. Stay back a bit, and when the lines appeared, find a safe place and use minimal movements to deal with the main attack. It was possible there was a better strategy, but this seemed like it would work for the time being.

Yukari's range of motion was fairly limited with this spellcard- she couldn't fly all around without throwing off the red and blue bullets. She did have enough area to move out of the way of the blood rain, as long as she was lucky and paying attention, though... which was good.
The boundary youkai wanted this fight to keep going as long as possible. She was having too much fun, ducking around the attacks sent her way with a lively flair and sending the dense bullets Mizuiro's way, watching him concentrate and shift to avoid them, in a deadly dance with her shifting lasers.

Awww, last turn of the spell... Oh well. He'd just have to make up for it with an inventive nonspell... yes, THAT one.
Oh yes... And it seemed her movement was limited like his was. On the other hand, he didn't actually have to move to have his danmaku in range. Excellent~
Dropping the random pattern, he began a vicious slash pattern, angled slashes opposed to eachother to trap her in the middle. His dodging strategy didn't change, no reason to.
